Tighten up your panties as these COD jihad all-stars will turn boys to men and men to girls, because tonight under the spotlight two of the sickest teams to ever grace aussie servers are about to go to WARRRRR!!!
Well not quite...
But what is true is the recent successes the Drunkards COD4 have been having in the GA (Game Arena) COD4 ladder.
For the Drunkards we've been playing COD4 since it's inception on GA and more recently have also begun playing COD4 in the CGo (CyberGamer Open) league.
The line-up may have differed over the last 2 years but when season 3# began earlier this year it was a whole new bag.
Our beloved Cpt, whom I profess my love & devotion, for whom I see rose petals whenever he plays COD4, (my very own american beauty), Koolmod began to discuss rebuilding the COD4 team as a semi serious comp team as an alternative to playing CODWAW (5) and Counter Strike Source.
He always intended the team to be semi serious about our approach and to do that he based the team largely around a small close knit group of people and together we began to get regular scrims everynight, began getting more involved in the aussie community, meeting other teams, exchanging demo's, configs, tricky nades all while doing battle against GA's best. In our first season under Koolmodee's leadership we narrowingly missed out on the finals, placing 9th underneath old rivals BS (Bashing Services). After just missing out on finals the group decided to take a break and requested to be dropped to the bottom of the ladder. During our sojorn we kept scriming, played CODWAW and other games and while we knew season 4# was quickly approaching we knew that going into this season we'd have to push i that little bit harder if we wanted to see a spot for ourselves in the finals.
Folks, I am proud to tell you that the Drunkards COD4 team has qualified for the season 4# finals for COD4 on GA. Earlier this week the Drunkards fought a very closely contested match against position 8th defenders SIN clan (Strength in Numbers) to qualify for finals. It was such a great game, the attacking half went round for round with neither side giving in. It was on the defence that the Drunkards really came into their own, some carefully executed counter attacks from defensive positions helped pave the way for the Drunkards to get 2 rounds up on SIN. With the score 9 - 7 the Drunkards tore away and managed to take three more rounds before dropping the last round to make the final score 12- 8.
It's a happy time in Vent right now, relaxed, sober (for the most part) before we go into the first round of the elmination series which is scheduled for Jan 2010. I'm told that our first round finals game will be against the lads from DC clan on their home map 'Strike'. For the Drunkards our mood is keen, recent scrims have been great and i'd have to say that the Drunkards COD team is on the mutha fucking strength so it will be a great match to look forward to.
The entire clan recognises the COD4 teams hardwork and the sheer love of the game, the effort my internet BF Koolmodee has put in and the dedication from all those invloved in taking the team to where it is today.
For my part i'd like to thanks my team mates: Kool, Moo, Zypher, Funks, Smidy, Moqo, Sneeks, Cry, Paradroid, MasterJ, Penguin, Padgo, Lukas, Dilbery, Gimp, Endo, Live, Bubba, Darth Chimpmonk, Dogs, Biggles, Shadow Demon, Trogdor and anyone else I might have forgotten who took part in getting us to where we are today.
